Los necios piensan que no hay Dios. (Salmo 14:1).
Cuenta una simpática fábula que un ateo paseaba por un hermoso bosque. Asombrado por tanta belleza, pensó: «¡Qué maravillas
han surgido como resultado de la evolución!».
No había transcurrido mucho tiempo cuando escuchó un ruido. Era un enorme oso que corría hacia él. Sin perder tiempo, el ateo corrió a todo pulmón, pero pronto se dio cuenta de que no podría escapar del oso a menos que ocurriera un milagro. Cuando el ateo sintió las zarpas del oso sobre su espalda, gritó:
—¡ Ay, Dios mío, por favor ayúdame!
Al instante el oso quedó como petrificado y una luz muy brillante inundó el bosque. Entonces se escuchó una voz desde el cielo:
—Durante todos estos años has negado mi existencia. ¿Cómo puedes esperar que te ayude ahora? ¿O es que te has convertido en cristiano?
—Sería muy hipócrita de mi parte —respondió el ateo— convertirme ahora solo por el interés de salvarme del oso. Pero quizás podrías hacer otro milagro: ¿Qué tal si conviertes al oso en cristiano?
Apenas el ateo hizo este pedido, la luz brillante desapareció. Entonces el oso puso al ateo en el suelo, lo sujetó con su pata derecha, juntó sus dos zarpas, e inclinando su cabeza dijo en tono muy piadoso:
—Te doy gracias, Dios, por este alimento que pones delante de mí.
¡Oración contestada!
Cuando leí esta historia, me pregunté si de verdad existe en este mundo algún ateo que, en lo más íntimo de su conciencia, no admita que Dios existe. ¿Qué ser humano, ante la presencia de un gran peligro o de una enfermedad mortal, no reconoce su necesidad de Dios? ¿Puede haber existido un ateo más obstinado que el faraón egipcio con quien les tocó lidiar a Moisés y Aarón? Y sin embargo, ese mismo faraón, cuando vio que nada podía hacer ante el poder de Dios, les dijo: «Vayan a adorar al Señor, tal como dijeron. Llévense también sus ovejas y vacas, como querían, y váyanse. Y rueguen a Dios por mí» (Éxo. 12:31,32).
¿Oren por quién? ¡Quién lo iba a creer! Hasta el ateo más incrédulo, tarde o temprano, se ve obligado a doblegar su orgullo y a admitir la soberanía del Creador. Pero, ¿qué necesidad hay de esperar el momento de crisis o de peligro para buscar la bendición de Dios?
Señor, ayúdame a reconocer tu soberanía en todo momento, no solo cuando tengo necesidad de ti.

A nice fairy tale tales that an atheist was walking through a beautiful forest. Astonished by such beauty, he thought: "What wonders have appeared as a result of evolution!".
Not much time had passed when he heard a noise. It was a huge bear running toward him. Wasting no time, the atheist ran for his life, but soon realized he could not escape the bear unless a miracle. When the atheist felt the bears claws on his back, he shouted:
- Oh, God, please help me!
In that instant the bear was as petrified and a bright light flooded the forest. Then a voice came from heaven:
-During all these years you have denied my existence. How can you expect me to help you now? Or did you become a Christian?
-It would be hypocritical of me, the atheist said to convert now just in the interests of being saved from the bear. But maybe you could make another miracle: How about if you make the bear a Christian?
Just as he made this request, the bright light disappeared. Then the bear put the atheist on the floor, held him with his right foot, put his two paws together, and bowing his head and in a very merciful tone said:
-Thank you, God, for this food you put in front of me.
Prayer answered!
When I read this story, I wondered if in reality there exists in this world any atheist who, in the depths of his conscience, doesn't admit that God exists. What human being in the presence of great danger or fatal disease, does not recognize their need for God? Could there have been a more convinced atheist then the Egyptian pharaoh with whom Moses and Aaron had to deal with? And yet, that same pharaoh, when he saw that he could do nothing against the power of God, said, “Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the Lord as you have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.”(Exodus 12:31,32).
Pray? for whom? Who would of believed it! Even the most skeptical atheist, sooner or later, is forced to break their pride and admit the sovereignty of the Creator. But what need is there to wait for the moment of crisis or danger to seek God's blessing?
Lord, help me to recognize your sovereignty at all times, not just when I have need of you.
